Decision Time

Decision time has arrived. This is the point in your life when you are standing at a crossroads of where you are headed and where you want to go. There are only two directions to choose from. As complex as it may seem and as life altering as it can be, it is actually a very simple question in its very nature. So which one are you going to travel?

One choice is what stands between you seeing the life promised by God or the life authored by your own abilities. You have to ask yourself if you are courageous enough to believe God for the great things He has stored up for you on that journey or are you going for the comfortable walk that anybody can travel?

As Christians we constantly hear the word “BOLD”. Almost so much that it loses its meaning and fades away into the background. It’s ironic because the very word means to stand out. But what is Christian Bold and exactly what does it entail to live a BOLD life in the eyes of God?

Going the God Mile

Has your child ever asked for money? Of course they have, they are kids, right? Now have you ever intentionally given them more than they requested? If so, then you know the surprised look that flashed over their face. Not only were they excited about receiving what they asked for but were stunned by being given MORE than they wanted! This, my friend, is how God loves to answer our prayers and how He goes the extra mile for His children also!

Throughout my life, I have had my fair share of requests of God and many times have seen His favor shower down upon me. So much so that I was left standing in amazement and almost in disbelief! Kind of ironic, I know.

There is no denying that sometimes in life you will get knocked down. Then there are other times that life will attack you so hard that it takes you out of the race for a while. Either time, it is never an enjoyable experience. However, it is a great opportunity to rejoice for you should know that HOPE is alive!

If you are forging down the path laid out for you by God, then no matter what the cost, it is always a time for praise. That is because as you are fighting the good fight, the enemy will do what it can to stop you in your tracks. So when tough times are upon you, take time to find your hope through your suffering.

America is fascinated with renovation. We renovate anything from houses to antiques. People spend tons of money, time, and even research to get the most “bang for their buck” in these endeavors. With each one, it usually starts with a desire to make something better than it is and then making it happen.

That desire is usually contemplated and dreamed about for weeks if not months. All aspects of the job are planned out while some even schedule vacation time to get a project off and running. They are excited because they know with just a little work, their goal of making something better is within reach!

Above the Storm

March 9, 2013 — 2 Comments

There is no doubt that sometimes “life” has a way of raining down on our joy, right? We could be having the best year ever and then all of a sudden, a storm cloud appears out of nowhere. That’s when we know that things are about to get wet and it is never any fun. So when this happens, what do you do?

Above the StormPhoto taken from my flight in a storm.

Last week I was doing some traveling and boarded a plane headed for home. The sky was completely dark and there was a slight drizzle of rain. Right before we started to take off, I noticed the rain picked up speed and was coming down fairly hard. I then thought to myself (sarcastically of course), “Well, this is going to be a fun ride.”

Rocky Balboa quote
Picture and quote from Rocky movie.

Many times I have fallen victim to believing I am not good enough. Each time I have had this thought, I realized it is only because I was comparing myself to someone else that has already gone through the battles and won. They were far down their road from where I was currently and this gave a disproportionate view of my success which caused me great discouragement.

Today, let’s agree together to not let those thoughts hold us back any longer and chose to be the champion we were created to be!
